Children's Size Guide

Accurate measurements built from real Canadian children's proportions — not scaled-down adult sizing. Find the right fit the first time.

How to Measure

Measuring Your Child in Three Steps

A soft measuring tape and a few minutes are all you need. Measure directly against the body, over lightweight clothing — not over a winter sweater.

1

Height

Stand your child barefoot against a flat wall. Place a book or ruler flat on top of their head, mark the wall, and measure from the floor to the mark. For babies under 12 months, lay them on a flat surface and measure from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet.

2

Chest & Waist

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the chest, just under the arms. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight — you should be able to fit one finger underneath. For waist, measure around the natural waistline, which is the narrowest point above the hip bones.

3

Foot Length

Place your child's foot on a piece of paper against a wall. Mark the tip of the longest toe with a pen and measure the distance from the wall to the mark. Always measure both feet — most children have a slight asymmetry — and use the longer measurement to find the right shoe size.

Baby (0–24 Months)

Baby Clothing Sizes

Baby sizing is based on age ranges, but height and weight are more reliable indicators — babies grow at wildly different rates. If your baby is between two sizes, choose the larger one. All measurements are in centimetres unless otherwise noted.

Size Label Age Height (cm) Weight (kg) Chest (cm)
Newborn 0–1 month 46–51 2.5–4.0 33–37
0–3M 0–3 months 51–58 3.5–5.5 37–40
3–6M 3–6 months 58–66 5.5–7.5 40–43

Toddler (2–5 Years)

Toddler Clothing Sizes

Toddlers enter a growth-spurt phase where height can jump 7–10 cm in a single season. We recommend measuring every 6–8 weeks. Our "slim" and "regular" fit options within each size accommodate different body types without needing a separate size entirely.

Size Age Height (cm) Chest (cm) Waist (cm) Hip (cm)
2T 2 years 86–92 51–53 49–51 52–54
3T 3 years 92–98 53–55 50–52 54–56
4T 4 years 98–104 55–57 51–53 56–58
5 5 years 104–110 57–59 53–55 58–61
Kids (6–12 Years)

Kids Clothing Sizes

By age six, children's proportions begin to vary considerably. We strongly recommend measuring chest, waist, and hip rather than selecting by age alone. Our product pages flag whether an item runs true-to-size, large, or small based on our internal fit-testing programme.

Size Age Height (cm) Chest (cm) Waist (cm) Hip (cm) Inseam (cm)
6 6 years 110–116 59–61 55–57 61–64 46–50

Children's Shoe Size Chart

Canadian shoe sizing for children follows the same numerical scale as US sizing. We show foot length in centimetres — always go by the actual measurement rather than guessing from age. Leave roughly 1–1.5 cm of growing room between the longest toe and the end of the shoe.

Pro Tips

Getting the Fit Right Every Time

Canadian sizing can differ from European or Asian sizing by as much as two full sizes. A child who wears EU 116 may need a North American size 6 rather than size 5 — so always cross-reference height and chest measurements rather than relying on the label number alone.

For outerwear, we suggest choosing one size up from the body-measurement chart. Canadian winters demand layering, and an extra 2–3 cm of room in the chest and shoulders lets a fleece or hoodie sit comfortably underneath a parka without restricting movement.

Sleepwear operates on a different principle: for safety reasons, it should fit snugly. Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) guidelines specify that children's sleepwear must be either flame-resistant or tight-fitting. Our sleepwear items follow the tight-fitting standard, so select the size that matches your child's measurements exactly — do not size up.

Between Two Sizes?

Always go with the larger option. Children grow quickly, and a slightly roomy fit lasts an extra season. The exception is swimwear and sleepwear, which should fit snugly.

Measure Consistently

Measure at the same time of day — feet swell slightly over the course of 8–10 hours. Morning measurements tend to be marginally smaller, so evening is a safer benchmark for shoes.

Free Exchanges

If the size does not work out, exchanges are free within 30 days. Simply choose a different size from the same product page, and we will send the replacement before you ship back the original.

Winter Boots Sizing

Add 1.5–2 cm to the measured foot length for winter boots. Thick socks and insulated liners compress over the season, so starting with a comfortable margin prevents the boots from feeling tight by February.
